I’m an artist, wife, mother and grandmother-of-four, (with a new grand babeobab on the way :) and I am currently based in the Kalahari Desert.

My art is borne of words, poetry found in the South African landscape. I love nothing more than to ‘walk with trees’ and to get ‘lost’ on my roadtrips and ever since I can remember, I have been journaling, writing and sketching my expressions, impressions and wandering experiences down so that I can translate my conversations with the land and my beloved trees to art.

My own artist’s journals and sketchbooks are my most treasured possessions.  I see them as ‘legacy works’ to leave to my children and grandchildren and they are the artworks, I get to keep for my own enjoyment whereas the artworks they inspired are sold or travel to places that I have never been.

When my entire personal collection of sketchbooks and journals spanning twenty years was destroyed in a housefire in 2017, I was devastated.  I resolved there and then to ensure that I place all future journals and sketchbooks on a bookshelf that cannot be burnt or lost and share them with my collectors and art lovers.

And this is why I have created this website. To share my painted songs and stories.

I am hard-at-work focusing on reclaiming my  most precious  ‘lost works’  of that time by retracing my steps and recreating the art and musings from memory and will be releasing I, Baobab in November 2024.

Dear you, thanks for your support and encouragement over the years, it has truly meant the world to me. Thank you, too for nagging me to get my art musings published for you to enjoy as well!

It took me a while, (seven years) to realise this dream, but I am so excited to be actively making this a reality and that you will join me on this journey, is a blessing.

I wish you wonder and light!
